The funeral of Clarence J. Obert, 85, of 225 S. Walnut St., Minonk, formerly of Flanagan, will be at 11 a.m. Friday (Oct. 31, 2003) at St. Petri Lutheran Church, rural Flanagan. The Rev. Paul Lellelid will officiate. Burial will be in St. Petri Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Flanagan. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of services at his church on Friday. Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, Minonk, is handling arrangements.
He died at 2:40 a.m. Sunday, October 26, 2003 at St. Mary's Hospital, Streator.
Clarence was born March 22, 1918, at Minonk, a son of John and Marie Hinrichs Obert. He married Edith Flohr on Aug. 16, 1939, at Benson. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Ronald (Suzanne) Obert and Roger (Alice) Obert, both of Minonk; and four grandchildren, Eric Obert, Chicago; Jason Obert, St. Louis; Adam Obert, New York, New York; and Laura Obert, Bloomington.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Clarence was a member of St. Petri Lutheran Church, Flanagan, and the Pontiac Moose Lodge. He owned and operated C.J. Obert Quality Oil in Flanagan for over 40 years.

Clarence was a loving husband and father and was extremely fond of his four grandchildren.
